They can talk about themselves for hours on end and never get bored.
It’s not that self-absorbed people aren’t interested or don’t care about other people, it’s that. After they’ve dissected everything that’s happening in their own lives, they might have some energy to devote to someone else.
Most self-absorbed people would be shocked to hear themselves described as self-obsessed or egotistical. They know themselves to be kind, generous, and fascinating people. They find that they can spend hours just concentrating on their own lives and can’t understand why other people don’t find them as endlessly engrossing as they do.
Now, although they may be self-absorbed, they may not always practice self-care, even thoughoften tells them to. They tend to ignore warning signs — it may be because they think that if something were really wrong, they’d know, or they’re just too consumed with something else about themselves to really notice.
The major motivation for self-absorbed people is how it will make them look. They like being helpful or kind because it gives the impression that they’re good people. They care, but if there isn’t at least a little something in it for them, it’s not on their list of priorities.
Wondering if someone you know is self-absorbed? You canto determine the most self-absorbed , ranked from most to least.
1. SAGITTARIUS (November 22 – December 21)
about the world, especially the one that revolves around them. It’s not that they’re unkind or bad people — quite the opposite — it’s just that they can get so wrapped up in what’s going on in their own life, they have no bandwidth to help or listen to somebody else’s issues.
When they’re in the throes of self-involvement, they tend to be careless, tactless, and inconsistent. They want to be a good partner, friend, and mate but they need to take care of their own stuff first, and sometimes there’s not enough time in the day for them to focus on someone other than themselves. But if you can deal with the Sagittarius self-absorption, they make amazing travel partners.
2. PISCES (February 19 – March 20)
It may seem wrong that someone so selfless could be so self-centered, but. They’re over-sensitive, so it’s not surprising that they take everything personally.
Their creative impulses spring from their self-absorption. They love to explore andand express them in a creative way. Pisces are especially self-absorbed when they’re feeling down, which can happen quite frequently.
They can be lazy when it comes to things that don’t matter to them, so everything is channeled through the view of how it affects their life.
3. SCORPIO (October 23 – November 21)
, but they have just enough buried insecurity to make them worry about how they present to other people. When someone breaks up with them or doesn’t hire them, Scorpio takes this very personally. They can become enraged if they don’t get the things (like jobs or partners) that they want, and they’ll put their energies into payback.
They really do make things all about them, and there’s no one as important to them as they are to themselves. They don’t understand why everybody isn’t focused on themselves the way that Scorpios are. It doesn’t make sense to them.
4. VIRGO (August 23 – September 22)
Virgo’s self-absorption comes in the form of always believing that they’re right and that they have the answer. It’s hard for them to accept that someone could be better or more knowledgeable than they are.
Since they’re very self-critical and detail-oriented, they tend to look at their life and behavior as if under a microscope.of their own lives, and their attempts at being perfect put themselves at the top of the list of their concerns. They’d feel better if they could put less attention on their flaws and more attention to helping others (their other great talent).
5. TAURUS (April 20 – May 20)
because they focus so much on what’s going on inside them — how they feel or felt when something happened. They tend to guard themselves against potential hurts and fixate on past ones.
They think they’re just being careful about who they let into their lives, but it’s more about their own self-centeredness. Taurus can be rude and dismissive of other people’s feelings. They make all the rules in their life, and if you can go along with them, great; if not, hit the road.
6. CAPRICORN (December 22 – January 19)
and if they’re not, they will spend a great deal of energy and time fretting about why they didn’t. They’ll fixate, focus, and pick apart their own actions and try to figure out what they did wrong or how they could have done something different.
Capricorns don’t like to think of themselves as self-centered but that they have very high standards. Capricorns can be selfish, a bit vain, and full of themselves. However, they will snap out of their self-absorption if needed, but when it comes to self-preservation, they will put themselves first.
7. LIBRA (September 23 – October 22)
and that takes a lot of focus on themselves. They’re constantly trying to improve themselves and they’re more than willing to tell everybody about it.
Libras are fascinating and charming, so if they spend a little too much time talking about themselves and their issues, it’s not too annoying. They’re self-deprecating enough that their self-centeredness comes off as entertaining. They can convince you that they’re not completely self-absorbed, they’re just discovering themselves and want to share their journey with you.
